Wanda Moore

Wanda Francis Moore, 63, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Ky. She was born May 16, 1950, in Sandusky, to the late Ernest and Helen Mays Francis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Speck and Buddy Francis. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jimmie Moore; one daughter, Lisa Moore, of South Point; three sisters, Carol Frisby, Lesta Littlejohn and Kay Wheeler; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 404 in South Point.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville by pastor Chuck McCormick. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday  at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

 

 

Lucy Runyon

Lucy Runyon, 75, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Ky. She was born Nov. 20, 1938, in Greenup, Ky., a daughter of the late Howard and Lucy Davis Boyle.

Lucy was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine Qualls, Shirley Barndollar and Vonda Gullett; two brothers, Howard Boyle and Claybert Boyle; an infant sister, Pauline Boyle; an infant brother, Chester Boyle; and a grandson, John David Baker. Lucy was an active member of Mamre Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Lowell Runyon; eight children, Loretta (Harold) Baker, Connie (Gene) Chafens, Angela (Willie) Chafens, John (Lee) Wurts, Michele (Ken) Barcus, Cheryl Waller, Kimberly Ewell and Rhonda Butler; two sisters, Juanita Gullett and Neva Greathouse; a brother, Glen (Linda) Boyle; 14 grandchildren, Sarah James, Shannon Chafens, Stephanie Kiser, J. C. Wurts, Courtney Wurts, Eden Barcus, Abraham Barcus, Gabriel Barcus, Brittney Wailer, Qwendy Pinkerman, Barry Marshall, Christopher Jenkins, Mandy Hall and Bryan Jenkins; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with pastors Ryan McKee and John Paul Patterson officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mamre Cemetery in Kitts Hill. Condolences may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

 

 

Dorothy Adkins

Dorothy Lee Adkins, 81, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at River’s Bend Health Care Center. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Abbey of Remembrance Mausoleum, Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va., with pastor Roger Adams officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.
