Ohio University Southern Campus will host a dinner reception at the Bellefonte Country Club at 6 p.m. on Monday for anyone interested in supporting a planned expansion of the Ohio Horse Park in Franklin Furnace.
A new all-weather outdoor riding area will be constructed to allow more people with disabilities to take advantage of the therapeutic riding services offered at the park. Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2014, with hopes of raising $25,000 towards the project through private donations. Limited naming opportunities are available at designated levels of financial contribution.
The 180-acre Ohio University Southern Horse Park is a center of learning for equine students and the community. Equine-assisted therapies are offered for children, adults with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges.
Anyone interested in supporting the horse park project or attending the event at Bellefonte Country Club should contact Kelly Hall, Director of Equine Studies at Ohio University Southern at 740-354-9347. Past supporters are encouraged to attend.
