Chester and Helen Stallard, 1616 Thomas St., Ironton, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple was married Sept. 11, 1963, in Ironton. Chester is a semi-retired barber, working at his shop in Ashland, Ky., for more than 50 years. Helen is a homemaker and an avid gardener.

They have two children, Ward and Ginger Stallard Buckner of Indianapolis, Ind., and Matthew and Cara Stallard of Athens. They also have four grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Stallard celebrated with a private family celebration in their honor hosted by their children and a destination celebration is planned in Estes Park. Colo.
