Many people at the Ironton Farmers Market on Saturday were full of bologna.
As part of the market’s “Tomato Festival” Ironton In Bloom members gave away bologna, tomato and onion sandwiches.
“We have given away a whole lot of bologna and we have a wonderful crowd,” Carol Allen, chair of the grassroots civic and beautification organization, said. “This event is slowly and steadily growing.”
Kelley’s Bridge Band provided entertainment and employees from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital performed free health screenings.
“The music is fun and we have a wonderful crowd,” Allen said. “I love to see all these people chatting.”
Sam Heighton, manager of the farmers market, was pleased with the day’s events.
“Everything is going really good,” he said. “I see a lot of new people here and that is the goal.”
