CHESAPEAKE — The South Point Lady Pointers used a 14-hit attack to back the three-hit pitching of Kaitlyn Brown as they blanked the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 12-0 in five innings on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Brown struck out four and did not walk a batter to get the win.
Bonnie Hileman was 2-3 with a triple and a home run to lead the Lady Pointers’ offense. South Point had nine extra base hits.
Abbey Winkler was 2-3 with a double and a triple, Brianna Whaley 2-4 with a double and a triple and Halie Powell 2-3 with a double for the Lady Pointers.
Macy Allen, Jordan Porter and Sydnee Hall each went 1-2 for Chesapeake (6-11).
South Point took a 4-0 lead in the second inning as Powell had an RBI double, Hannah Carey a run-scoring single and Hileman belted a two-run homer.
Whaley and Haley Rawlins had RBI doubles in the fifth for a 6-0 lead.
The Lady Pointers scored six runs in the fifth inning.
Aerial Boggs had a two-run double, Hileman a two-run triple and Winkler and Whaley RBI triples.
