Preparations for a slip repair project on State Route 522 in Lawrence County are under way, and contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impose lane restrictions early next week.

Today, Shelly and Sands Inc. crews will begin the repair project at the route’s 5.30-mile marker.

Construction includes repairing the slip with a 84-foot plug pole retaining wall along the route’s west side, as well as pavement, culvert and ditch repair and reconstruction.

The project site is situated between County Road 41 (S. Buckhorn-Superior Road) and County Road 27 (Little Pine Creek Road), near the community of Superior and approximately five miles east of the Scioto County line.

Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, nine-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.

Shelly and Sands, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $158,650 to complete the repairs, and the project is anticipated to be completed in early summer.
