A South Point woman who pretended to be a nurse so she could get prescription drugs pleaded guilty to a six-count indictment Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Brea Sifford, 34, of 1299 Township Road 616, told Judge Charles Cooper she was guilty of six counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug.

Authorities said six times between Jan 7 and April 18, Sifford called McMeans Pharmacy in South Point and pretended to be a King’s Daughters Medical Center Urgent Care nurse to obtain Xanax.

Cooper sentenced Sifford to a total of four years in prison and fined her $10,000. While Sifford was out of jail on bond awaiting the resolution of her case, she was required to wear a GPS ankle bracelet that kept track of her movements and made sure she did not leave the boundaries set for her by the Adult Probation Agency. At one point Sifford cut her ankle bracelet and forced authorities to search for her.

“Your sentence could have been longer,” Cooper told Sifford. “It is unusual to have someone out on an ankle device to cut the device and be on the run for days.”

He did allow her a visit with her family before she was sent to prison.

“Is there any way I can be brought back (to Lawrence County) to be closer to my family before I get sent to prison?” Sifford inquired. She is being kept in Scioto County because of Lawrence County Jail overcrowding. Cooper said she needed to talk to Sheriff Jeff Lawless about her request.

Joe Boles II, 28, of 613 Township Road 218, Ironton, pleaded guilty to a felony domestic violence charge. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced him to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation (CCS/ISP) and ordered him to stay away from his victim. Boles must also perform 200 hours of community service.

“My client admits his culpability and is sorry for the events that have transpired,” Boles’ attorney, Warren Morford said.

“I’m sorry for everything that happened,” Boles said.

Shawn Siders, 26, of 124 Private Drive 910, State Route 522, Pedro, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal trespass and felony breaking and entering.

Bowling sentenced Siders to four years CCS/ISP and ordered him to successfully complete a program at the STAR Community Justice Center and complete 200 hours of community service.

Adrian Johnson, 34, of 2045 Oakview Road, Ashland, Ky., pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking on cocaine and one count of complicity to trafficking on cocaine. Cooper will sentence him Oct.3 following a pre-sentence investigation.
