CHESAPEAKE — The River Valley Lady Raiders should have gotten a power surge protector against Caitlin Heffner.

The Chesapeake Lady Panthers’ catcher showed her power with two home runs on Wednesday in a 10-8 win and hit two doubles on Thursday in a 4-2 victory over the Lady Raiders in a pair of Ohio Valley Conference games.

“She really hit the ball well. The two home runs were tagged and the two doubles were hit hard. They almost went out, too,” said Chesapeake coach Aaron Rice.

Heffner was 2-5 with four runs batted in on Thursday as Chesapeake collected 17 hits. Anna Mayo was 3-5 with three doubles, Ali Ransbottom went 3-5, Jordan Porter was 2-4 with a double, Breanna Skeens was 2-4 and Sydnee Hall had a triple.

Macy Allen got the win as she allowed just six hits. She struck out eight and walked seven.

The two teams met again on Thursday at Chesapeake and Heffner was 2-2 with the two doubles. Allen got the win again as she pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts and four walks.

River Valley went up 1-0 in the first inning but the Lady Panthers got three runs in the third.

Skeens and Sarah Rice walked, Mayo had a two-run singled and Heffner doubled in a run. Heffner had a two-out double and Porter singled to make it 4-1 in the fifth.

The Lady Raiders got a run in the seventh before Allen shut them down.
