FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Oak Hill Lady Oaks won a doubleheader against the Green Lady Bobcats on Saturday.

Oak Hill won the first game 8-2 and took the nightcap 4-3 in five innings.

“We had four errors in the first game and they were all costly,” said Green coach Dale Royse. “In the second game their girl just pitched a good game.”

Sammi Crisp went 2-3, Jenna Crawford 2-4 and Devon Johnson 1-3 as Green had five hits in the opener.

Oak Hill took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Kuhn and Melvin walked and scored when Spohn reached on an error.

The Oak got four more runs in the top of the fourth after two outs.

Swann reached on an error, Bryant was hit by a pitch, Kuhn had a two-run triple, Melvin and RBI double and Spohn an RBI single.

Green got a run back in the bottom of the inning on walks to Micah Lewis, Kayla McCallister and Krashawna Jones and a passed ball.

Oak Hill got two more runs in the sixth when Melvin reached on an error, Spohn singled and Bentley had a two-run single.

The Lady Bobcats managed a run in the seventh when Johnson singled, went to third on an outfield error and Crawford singled.

Green (7-8) managed just two hits as Imes went 1-2 and McCallister 1-3.

Crawford pitched well in defeat. She gave up eight hits, struck out four and didn’t walk anyone.

Oak Hill took a 1-0 lead in the first when Kuhn singled, moved up on a ground out and scored on Bentley’s base hit.

Green tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Crawford was hit by a pitch, Sammi Crisp and Imes walked and Lewis was hit by a pitch.

Kuhn singled and Melvin doubled as Oak Hill went up 2-1 in the top of the third, but Green scored two in the bottom of the inning.

Crisp walked, Imes singled, Lewis walked, McCallister had an RBI single and a passed ball scored the final run.

The Oaks scored twice in the fifth. Detty singled and scored on Kuhn’s double. Kuhn went to third on the throw home and scored on an errant return throw to third base.
