BIDWELL — When the Rock Hill Redmen finally got going, they couldn’t stop.

The Redmen turned a close game into a blowout with an 11-run seventh inning as they routed the River Valley Raiders 15-1 on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We finally started working the count and we weren’t swinging at bad pitches,” said Redmen coach Barry Litteral. “Drew and John both threw well and we fielded the ball.”

Drew Kidd and Johnathan Schob combined on a two-hitter, Kidd fanned six, walked three and gave up one hit. Schob struck out eight and gave up a hit.

Jack Goodwin was 2-5 and Jonah Cox 2-4 as the Redmen (2-3, 1-0) had nine hits.

The Redmen got two runs in the first inning. Ryan Depriest doubled, Kidd was safe on an error for a run, Schob was hit by a pitch and Goodwin hit a sacrifice fly.

The Raiders scored a run in the second but the Redmen got the run back in the fourth when Evan Morris and Tyler Blagg were hit by pitches and Jared Bruce had an RBI single.

Another run scored in the sixth when Morris walked, Jonah Cox doubled and Blagg singled.

Rock Hill then erupted for 11 runs in the seventh inning with the aid of five walks and two hit batsmen. Schob had a three-run triple and Goodwin followed with an RBI double.
