River Valley rallies by Lady Vikings

BIDWELL — there is alight at the end of the tunnel.
Symmes Valley Vikings’ coach Brandon Walker was disappointed that his team lost 50-44 to the River Valley Lady Raiders on Monday, but he saw a lot of positive signs.
“You don’t like to lose, but we grew up tonight,” said Walker. “We’re playing a lot of freshmen and sophomores. The changes are giving us some experienced and we played four quarters tonight except for about one minutes. That’s an improvement.”
Hannah Maynard and Megan Johnson scored 4 points each in the first quarter and it was 12-8.
River Valley rallied to get within 21-20 at the half, but Gracie Waddell had 7 points in the third quarter as the Lady Vikings went in front 34-30.
Bryant had 8 points for River Valley in the third quarter.
Gilmore scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as she hit a 3-pointer and went 8 for 8 at the foul line. Her 3-pointer put River Valley up for good at 44-41.
The Lady Raiders were 12 of 15 from the line in the quarter.
Waddell had 12 points to lead the Lady Vikings (7-12).
Gilmore scored 22 for River Valley (5-14).
