CHESAPEAKE — A Proctorville woman accused of stabbing her husband Dec. 29, 2011, waived her right to a preliminary hearing Friday in Lawrence County Municipal Court.
The case of Kristen McMillian, 35, of 1751 State Route 775, will now go to the grand jury. McMillian is charged with felonious assault.
The alleged victim is McMillian’s husband, Jack McMillian, who was treated at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., for a wound to his upper right abdomen.
Residents at a house on Private Drive 1755, off State Route 775, told authorities Jack McMillian had come to their house bleeding from a chest wound.
The residents reportedly told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Rogers, Proctorville Police Sgt. Michael Vaden and Officer Randy Thompson that Jack Millian first said he was stabbed but then changed his story and said he had fallen. The residents told authorities Jack McMillian then changed his story again and told them his wife had accidentally stabbed him.
According to a sheriff’s office report, Kristen McMillian allegedly told authorities her husband fell on a knife while eating cereal at their home.
She later reportedly admitted she had stabbed her husband.
Kristen McMillian remains in the Lawrence County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
