I hope that a recent letter writer wasn’t trying to say that in order to be a Christian you must be a liberal.

When God talked to Adam in the garden after his and Eve’s sin, He told Adam in Genesis 3:19, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread.”

God said that man should work for a living, not sit at home and wait for a government check.

How did the men who have money get it? Unless they stole it, money was given to them for services rendered.

But, using the liberal jargon that some tout, if someone started a company and has made money they should share all of it with those who won’t work.

This sounds very liberal.

I am a minister, a conservative, a God-fearing saved person who tithes to our church. What are you doing?

Some people like to judge others and say Jesus was a liberal. Well, in his book the Bible, it is plainly stated in 2nd Thessalonians 3:10, “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any wouldn’t work, neither should he eat.”

This doesn’t tell us not to help those who are in need. I am not rich, never have been here on earth, but I will someday be in heaven.

If only people believed all the Bible, not just what they think, many people would be in a better place to judge. However, let God judge.

By the way, when the tax cuts were given, who benefited the most? The poorest who work. And many pay no taxes at all.

The top 5 percent pay more than 50 percent of all taxes and those who work and are in the bottom who pay no taxes still get an earned income bonus because they do work, but have a low paying job.

And when did a poor person hire 10 to 20 people and pay them a living wage? Enough said.

So, by some standards, because I don’t see like they do, I couldn’t be in Heaven.

Media should help honor Ironton’s Coy Bacon

Is there a media bias against the Friends Of Coy Bacon in the Tri-State area?

The Friends Of Coy Bacon is a group of 134 members working for the induction of former Ironton Fighting Tiger and Cincinnati Bengal great Coy Bacon into the Professional Football Hall Of Fame.

As of Dec. 15, we have 415 signatures on our online petition at www.ipetitions.com/petition/coybaconforthehall/ and yet WSAZ, WOWK, WVAH and WCHS television channels, along with The Ashland Daily Independent and The Portsmouth Daily Times won’t cover our story.
