They say God works in mysterious ways and this could not have been more true than for a group of women at Sharon Baptist Church Saturday.

They gathered to make dozens of cookies they then bagged and handed out to people. While this may sound like a neighborly holiday gesture, organizer Pam Beachem said she was simply following the will of God.

“He had been nagging me and nagging me,” she explained. So Beachem gathered some friends and they met in the church’s new kitchen, made the cookies and then knocked on doors and told the doubtlessly surprised hosts that God loved them. The women prayed with people, and passed out those cookies.

“I had a good experience,” Beachem said.

“Out of the probably 30 homes I went to and passed out prayer cards, only one woman didn’t,” Robin Murdock agreed.

“We made these cookies with love,” Pam said. “We want to share Jesus’ love with them. This can be a very stressful time for people.”
