PLAYING FOR RECORDS: Kenton’s Maty Mauk threw for eight touchdowns and ran for two more as Division IV’s No. 1 team beat Celina 70-33.
The Missouri-bound Mauk, already holder of the state record for career touchdown passes with 189, completed 31 of 46 passes for 486 yards. He also rushed for 101 yards.
The previous owner of the mark for most TD passes was older brother, current Kenton assistant and 2002 Mr. Football Ben Mauk.
