Missing man found safe

A Kentucky man who had been missing in Wayne National Forest has been found safe. Searchers located Don Nickels, 59, Tuesday, Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless said.
The man appeared to be hypothermic but was otherwise OK, the sheriff said.
Lawless did not have details about what time and where the man was found.
Nickels had been reported missing Sunday evening after he and his wife drove into the forest that afternoon, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. The man told his wife that he would be back in 15 minutes, but by 8:30 p.m., he had not returned, according to the release.
The following agencies helped with the search: the sheriff’s office, fire departments and K-9 officers from Huntington, W.Va., the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur Township Fire Department, Proctorville Fire Department, Upper Township Fire Department, Fayette Fire Department, Coal Grove Fire Department and Hamilton Fire Department.
