How would you finish this sentence: “You know you are from the Tri-State if …”

For me, there are so many answers. Here are a few:

“You remember Mr. Cartoon as an afternoon staple of childhood.”

Email newsletter signup

“Trips to Anderson’s Pizza Pub in Ironton were a grand excursion that generated lots of excitement.”

“You spend significant time in three states nearly everyday without driving more than 30 minutes at a time.”

“Summer days at Lake Vesuvius hold stronger memories than visits to bodies of water much larger.”

So, what’s yours? Share it with others by visiting our new Facebook group of the same name.

We want you to share your stories, photographs and memories of the things that make our little corner of geography so special.

This concept isn’t new to Facebook. In fact, you may find hundreds of similar groups and pages for communities across the country and beyond.

A colleague from Minnesota shared one he created for their town, a small city in the southern part of the state that isn’t all that different from ours.

I was blown away by what people shared and hope to get that same feeling, perhaps tinged with a little more nostalgia once we get up and going.

So visit the page by going to Facebook and searching for “You know you are from the Tri-State if …”

Make sure you join the group so you will see what others share. Invite your friends, too.

Our hope is that this sparks some great discussion and fond memories.

Whether you are a life-long resident, born and raised here or if this has just become your adopted home, tell us what makes the Tri-State so special for you and share some of those little idiosyncrasies that are unique to our region of southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and western West Virginia.

So, let’s hear it.
