In the night’s 25-lap Late Model A-Main, polesitter Jackie Boggs led the field at the start. Boggs maintained around a five-car length lead in the races early stages while the racing from second on back raged two and three wide.

On a lap 10 restart, things got really interesting as Boggs washed up the race track coming out of turn four, allowing for second and third place runners Tim Dohm and Eddie Carrier Jr. to get under Boggs to go three wide for the lead.

The trio went three wide down the frontstretch with contact being made coming across the flagstand resulting in a near disaster as Carriers car went sideways. Somehow, Carrier saved the car and Boggs stormed back to the lead.

From there, Boggs dominated to claim the $2,000 win. Eddie Carrier Jr. finished second with Tim Dohm third, R. J. Conley fourth, and Jason Montgomery fifth. Boggs, Conley, and Carrier won heat races while Rod Conley won the B-Main.

The UMP Modified feature saw a tremendous battle for the lead between polesitter Shawn Holliday and Luke Jordan. Once Jordan moved to second in the races early stages, he immediately set his sights on Holliday as the two exchanged the lead multiple times. Jordan would get a better run in turns three and four and get under Holliday, while Holliday would get off of turn two better and reclaim the lead each lap.

Unfortunately, the race was caution filled and reached the end of the 40-minute time limit before the 20 lap could be completed, resulting in a green white checkered finish. On the restart, Holliday got the jump into turn three with Jordan a car length behind in second.

Behind the leaders, a three-car crash occurred resulting in a caution. By SOS rule, only one green-white checkered is attempted to complete a race once the time limit has expired, so Holliday would come across the line to take the win under the caution.

Jordan finished second with Brian Skaggs third, Matt Edmiston fourth, and Jake Keaton fifth. Holliday, Jordan, and Eric Hatfield won heat races.

The Bomber A-Main started much like the UMP Modified feature, with David Dunn and Conard Newman exchanging the lead lap after lap. Newman would eventually be able to make the pass and clear Dunn around the races halfway mark to go on and take his third feature win of the season.

Dunn finished second with Eric Dennison third, James Johnson fourth, and Kenny Neal fifth. Newman and Dunn won heat races.

Racing continues at the Southern Ohio Speedway on Friday with the “7th Annual Iron-Man Classic” featuring the STARS MDRL Late Model Series paying $5,000 to win.

UMP Modifieds, Bombers, and Sport Mods will also be on the racing card. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30. Adult general admission is $20 with pit passes $30. Discount pricing is available for kids. For more information visit www.southernohiospeedway.com.
