Shirley Marie Justice Pinkerman, 73, of Ironton, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Lawrence County native was born April 10, 1938, the daughter of the late Buel and Marie Callicoat Justice. She was married to Edward V. Pinkerman on Dec. 31, 1954; he survives.

She attended Waterloo High School and was a former school bus driver for the Symmes Valley School District, retiring in 1995. She was a foster grandparent for 10 years and in the senior citizen program for three years. She enjoyed raising and caring for her roses. She attended Linnville Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Edward Pinkerman; and a sister, Mrs. Gerri Webb.

She is survived by a daughter, Dianna Pinkerman Skaggs of Ona, W.Va., a son, Jerry “Bud”  and Maudie Pinkerman of Gallipolis; a daughter, Pamela “Susie” and Joe Hurley of Wilmington, N.C.; a son, Michael “Mike” Pinkerman and his fiancée, Heather of Wilgus; a daughter, Rita Faye and Randall James of Gallipolis; a son, Charles “Bo” Pinkerman of Wilgus; a sister, Mrs. Erma Lee Arbaugh of Pedro; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a special caregiver, Jay Nance.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Bowling and Bro. Larry Pinkerman officiating. Burial will follow in Old Baptist Cemetery.
