Charles Rowe

LONDON— Charles Harvey Rowe, 72, of London, formerly of Ironton, passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at the Madison Senior Living Community in London.  The Ironton native was born May 14, 1939, the son of the late William and Agnes Lipker Rowe. Mr. Rowe is preceded in death by his wife Patty Simpson Rowe who passed away March 21, 1997.

Mr. Rowe was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a retired lineman for Ameritech and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jim Rowe, Bob and Bonnie Rowe

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jill Rowe of  London; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Paul Lyons of South Charleston; two grandsons, Kyle Rowe of  London, and Andrew Lyons of South Charleston; five brothers and four sister-in-laws, Bill Rowe of Ironton, Jack and Clara Rowe of Ironton, Jerry and Jo Rowe of Ironton, Tom and Bonnie Rowe of New Carlisle, and Ron and Nancy Rowe of New Carlisle; two sisters, Helen Angle of Ironton, and Sally Hargis of New Carlisle; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Rowe of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ruth and Dave Bentson of Van Alstyne, Texas and a brother-in-law, Dale and Jackie Simpson of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Elder Dale Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.
