RIVERDALE, N.D. — Charles (Mouse) Oscar Allen, 79, of Riverdale, N. D., formerly of Ironton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Ironton, Ohio native was born Feb. 8, 1932, the son of the late John and Florence Alford Allen. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Mays Allen, whom he married May 14, 1955.

Mr. Allen was a 1950 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and lived most of his life in the Ironton area but had lived in North Dakota for the past 27 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee for the Semet Solvay Coke Plant in Ironton for 28 years and also the Great Plains Gasification Plant in North Dakota for seven years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Community Missionary Baptist Church in Deering and attended the Community Church in Riverdale, N. D.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hubert Allen, Joe Allen, Talmadge Alford and Frank Allen; a sister: Lillian Pemberton; a grandchild and a great grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Brad Hitchcock of Deering; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Mark Dean of Deering; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Barry Parsons of South Point; a daughter, Cindy Lanning of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Nancy Allen of South Point; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Gale Allen of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sheryl Allen of Ridgecrest, Calif.; a son, Randall Allen and his companion Rebecca Anderson of Steele, N. D.; a very special friend (his little Indian Angel): Debra McCleery of Riverdale, N.D.; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Delawder and the Rev. Rick Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery.
