A woman who was sentenced last week to community control sanctions and a term at the STAR Community Justice Center found herself back in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Wednesday for a change in her sentence.
Jessyca Fleming, 34, of 2528 S. 10th St., Ironton, pleaded guilty last week to criminal non-support. But since last week’s court appearance, she was charged with receiving stolen property in Kentucky, a charge for which she could get a three-year prison sentence.
“STAR won’t take her until the Kentucky matter is resolved,” Assistant Lawrence County Prosecutor Brigham Anderson explained.
Judge D. Scott Bowling instead imposed a 12-month prison sentence that may be served concurrently with any sentence she receives in Kentucky. She must still pay the $20,997 child support arrearage she accumulated once she is released from prison.
Mark Daniels, 42, of 2202 County Road 55, Ironton, was arraigned on one count of domestic violence. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Mike Gleichauf.
Bowling allowed a $25,000 cash or surety bond posted in a lower court to continue and added a $25,000 own recognizance (OR) bond as well. Daniels must return to court June 15 for a pretrial conference.
Charles Hall, 22, of 615 Cliff St., Ironton, was arraigned on one count of felonious assault. Through his attorney, Mike Gleichauf, he pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity.
Bowling ordered a mental evaluation and set a $50,000 cash bond plus a $50,000 own recognizance bond.
