For the 10th year in a row, thousands of bluegrass fan will flock to Scottown for three days of music.

Appalachian Uprising will begin at noon Thursday and continue through Saturday evening. The festival is located at Eden Valley Farm, 1175 Township Road 225, Scottown.

“We just have our best lineup that we’ve put together,” event promoter Steve Cielec said. “It’s all about the music.”

That lineup includes Sam Bush, Chris Hillman and Herb Pederson, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Lillies, the Davisson Brothers and the Vespers among several others. A complete list of the lineup can be found at the festival’s website, www.appalachianuprising.net.

“We’re hoping to get eight or nine thousand (people) this year,” he said. “It’s grown tremendously over the years.”

Festivalgoers come from all over the country, Cielec said. This year tickets were sold to people from England who planned to be in the area, he said.

The price of a ticket includes camping and firewood. Cielec said people should plan to bring a lawn chair to the festival.

Tickets will be available at the gate for $40 Thursday, $45 Friday and $50 Saturday. A three-day ticket is $110.
