BEAVER — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings have got their bats going.

The Lady Vikings banged out 15 hits and beat the Beaver Eastern Lady Eagles 10-3 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

The Lady Vikings came back to outscore the New Boston Lady Tigers 14-9 on Friday.

“We hit the ball well the past few days,” said Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.

On Thursday, Kari Brumbaugh went 4-4 with a double and a home run while Kayla Ross was 3-3. Hannah Roach had two doubles.

The Lady Vikings (5-6, 3-3) scored four runs in the first inning.

Roach and Brumbaugh doubled, Ross singled in a run, Katie Hill grounded out for a run, Erica Johnson walked and Michaela Sheppard had a two-run single.

The lead went to 7-0 in the fifth when Roach doubled, Brumbaugh had an RBI single, Ross singled, Johnson hit a sacrifice fly and Beth Brown singled in a run.

Symmes Valley scored three more runs in the sixth to lead 10-0.

Roach reached on a fielder’s choice and Brumbaugh hit a two-run homer. Ross singled, stole second and scored on Hill’s base hit.

Johnson got the win with a three-hitter. She struck out five and walked two.

Symmes Valley scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally past New Boston 14-9 on Friday.

New Boston took a 3-0 lead in the first but the Vikings tied the game in the second.

Hill singled, Johnson had a sacrifice bunt, Brown singled and Sheppard had an RBI single. The runners moved up on a wild pitch and Humphrey singled in a run.

After the Tigers got a run in the second Green scored five times in the third.

Roach, Brumbaugh and Ross walked and Hill hit her grand slam. Brown then doubled and Humphrey singled.

New Boston scored once in the fourth and four in the sixth to take a 9-8 lead.
