Leona Dishner Preston

MARION, Va. — Leona Dishner Preston, 97, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1913, in Smyth County, to the late James Robert and Laura Welch Dishner.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Preston; four brothers, Charles, James, Bill and Paul Dishner; four sisters, Bessie Aker, Leah Burchett, Cleo Testerman and Thelma Jasik. She lived for many years in Chesapeake where she was the founder and owner of Preston Beauty College.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews; and special care givers, Kathy Blevins and Hilda Peake.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Eugene Baldwin and Dr. John DiYorio officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
