Ghosthunters eyeing Lawrence County

Got a haunted house? Want to be on television? County Commissioner Administrator Tami Meade wants to hear from you.
This week Meade received an e-mail from Zig Gauthier, a producer for Pilgrim Films and Television in Los Angeles. Pilgrim produces Ghost Hunter on the Syfy Channel. The producer was aware of a location in the county where there was possible significant paranormal activity and wanted to use it as a locale for an episode for the show.
That owner declined the show’s offer, but Gauthier still sees Lawrence County as a viable ghost hunter’s paradise.
So Meade is soliciting possible locations to pitch to the show’s producer.
“I think it would bring outsiders into the county and see the rich history that we have and that we preserve,” Meade said. “This is not just the cookie cutter city. We have such history.”
Anyone who hears bumps in the night, sees lights turn off and on without the aid of a flesh and blood hand or is greeted in their foyer by a chilly breeze in the dog days of summer should write a letter to Meade offering up their house.
Letters listing the location and detailing the phenomena owners have experienced should be sent to Meade by April 8 at the Lawrence County Commission chambers, 111 S. Fourth St., Ironton, OH 45638.
