Darrell C. Heaberlin

Darrell C. Heaberlin, 55, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, surrounded by his family and friends. The Ironton resident was born Dec. 25, 1955, the son of Wayne and Agnes Howard Heaberlin of Kitts Hill.

Darrell was a graduate of Rock Hill High School with the Class of 1973. He was a former employee of Calgon and worked 28 years for Ashland/Marathon Oil. He was of the Baptist faith. Darrell and Pattie were avid motorcycle riders and had visited Canada and all 50 states except Hawaii. He was member of the Goldwing Riders of American and the Ghost Riders of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by one uncle, Donald Howard. He is survived by (in addition to his parents), his wife, Pattie Delawder Heaberlin, who he married Dec. 23, 1983; one son, Christopher Heaberlin and one daughter, Mariah Heaberlin, both of Ironton; maternal grandmother, Margaret Kimes of Ironton; sister and brother-in-law, Sherill and Larry Baker of Dublin; brother and sister-in-law, Shannon and Rhonda Heaberlin of Kitts Hill; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Gloria Delawder of Ironton; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Donald Delawder and Minister Brent Baker officiating. Darrell will be led to his final resting place in Sugar Creek Cemetery by his motorcycle friends and family.
