Alleged bank robber indicted on charges

Twenty others tabbed by local grand jury
An Ironton man who allegedly robbed a bank has been indicted on charges of second-degree robbery and tampering with evidence.
Talmadge M. Bacon, 30, of 416 Walnut St., allegedly robbed US Bank, 2301 S. Third St., on Jan. 5. The man allegedly passed a note to a bank teller demanding money and stating that he had explosives.
Bacon was one of 21 people arraigned by a Lawrence County Grand Jury when it met Thursday and Friday. According to its report, the grand jury examined 40 witnesses covering 22 cases and returned the following indictments:
• Brian A. Kelly, 26, of 485 Township Road 247, Kitts Hill, fifth-degree theft
• Michael D. Hankins, 32, of 601 Second St. E., South Point, fifth-degree breaking and entering
• Flint Topping, 39, of 23 N. Fifth St., Ironton, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree felonious assault
• Thomas G. Clay, 28, of 22895 State Route 141, Waterloo, third and fourth degree domestic violence
• Dana B. Nichols, 32, of 103 Private Drive 3, Apt. 1, Chesapeake, first-degree aggravated trafficking in drugs, second-degree aggravated possession of drugs, fourth-degree trafficking in drugs and misdemeanor drug possession
• Jason D. Adkins, 28, of 70 Private Road 302 Room 128, South Point, misuse of credit cards
• Ashley N. Fields, 25, of 976 County Road 31, Chesapeake, theft from an elderly person
• Irene M. Abbott, 28, of 92 Gary Malone St., South Point, fifth-degree receiving stolen property and misdemeanor contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child
• Douglas R. Kimbell, 33, of Holiday Apartments Apt. 4C, Proctorville, obstructing official business
• Robert Thatcher, 72, of 109 N. Jones St., Proctorville, third-degree unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, second-degree pandering obscenity involving a minor, and second-degree illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance
• Christopher L. Martin, 22, of 1524 S. Fourth St., Ironton, third-degree failure to appear
• Angel M. Wright, 31, of 609 Ninth St., Huntington, W.Va., third-degree illegal conveyance or prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility or institution
• Donald S. Caldwell, 48, of 1132 County Road 19, Kitts Hill, two counts of third-degree abduction and misdemeanor operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol
• Dickie L. Wilson, 30, of 113 Depot St., Coal Grove, third-degree gross sexual imposition
• Joshua T. White, 30, of 302 N. Seventh St., Ironton, fourth-degree unlawful sexual conduct with a minor
• Dustin W. Egbert, 26, of 60 Jeremiah’s Court, Greenup, Ky., third-degree attempt to commit robbery and fourth-degree unlawful possession or use of a hoax weapon of mass destruction
• Susan K. Berry, 48, of 134 Private Drive 2404, Kitts Hill, fifth-degree aggravated possession of drugs
• Benjamin M. Vanover, 33, of Lot 72 Private Drive 267, Proctorville, third-degree escape
• Cindy S. Hacker, 35, of 188 County Road, Ironton, 83 counts of fourth-degree deception to obtain a dangerous drug, one count of second-degree deception to obtain a dangerous drug, one count of second-degree engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and one count of third-degree tampering with evidence
• Thomas A. Hacker, 31, of 188 County Road, Ironton, 32 counts of fourth-degree complicity to deception to obtain a dangerous drug, one count of second degree complicity to deception to obtain a dangerous drug and one count of complicity to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
