State patrol investigates man’s death

A Kentucky man was found dead of natural causes in a vehicle along State Route 775 Sunday morning.
Walter Dalton, 70, of Catlettsburg, was discovered slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle around 9:22 a.m. Sunday.
A passerby reported the death to the Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Upon contact, the man was unresponsive. The Lawrence County EMS responded to the scene and found no signs of life. The vehicle, which showed no signs of damage, had been driven off the side of the roadway into a field where it coasted to a stop.
An investigator from the Lawrence County Coroner responded to the scene. The man was taken to Hall’s Funeral Home in Proctorville.
The incident is being handled as a natural death and no criminal circumstances were involved.
The man’s next of kin have been notified.
