With construction complete at its North Second Street location, Fresenius Medical Care is a few steps away from opening.
The dialysis clinic, located at 158 N. Second St. in the building that formerly held Big Lots, is in the process of obtaining licenses from the State of Ohio and from Medicare, Janice Sitzlar, the company’s regional vice president, said in an email from the company’s marketing representative Jaclyn Petros.
“We notified the state that we are prepared for our licensure survey,” Sitzlar said. “Once we have state licensure, we will have an additional Medicare certification survey to complete. Following successful completion of these two surveys, we will be fully certified to begin accepting new patients.”
Sitzlar said she does not have a timeline for when the licensure process will be completed and the clinic can open.
The center will employ eight people at first.
“Our staff is in place for the opening of the facility, but additional positions may be available as our patient census grows,” Sitzlar said.
