Jack Fields

Jack Fields 72 of Ironton, passed Friday, Dec. 11, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tak, brother, Emory “Jean” and father, Emory. He is survived by his mother, Garnet, brother, Lawrence, sister, Louise Wright, two sons, Jackie and Mike, their wives, Tricia and Tobi, grandsons, Ryan, Aaron, Kyle, Jadyn, granddaughter Megan, and two great grandchildren, Keira and Caleb.
Jack was a USAF retiree and a proud veteran who spent many years away from his family to serve his country. He also retired from Collins Career Center as director of trades where he touched many at the start of life responsibilities. He was of Baptist faith. As a regular member of the VFW, Moose, Elks, Amvets, K of C and Eagles clubs and a Mason, he enjoyed the company of many. He was a devoted father and husband. He was a graduate of Ironton High School and Ohio University.
A graveside vigil will be held at Woodland Cemetery 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Leon Dalton officiating and military graveside rites by VFW 8850. There will be a tribute at the Knights of Columbus at 12 p.m.
His wishes were like his life, keep it simple. He will be missed and leaves a vacant place in all our hearts.
