On behalf of the Ironton Eagles 895, I would like to say thank you to the 60 percent of ballots cast to allow us the sale of alcohol on Sunday.

This will give us a much-needed competitive boost.

A lot of credit has to go to the ladies auxiliary. They have overcome a large inherited debt and they have a good mix of experienced officers and young officers who know how to “push the wagon.” I invite the 40 percent who voted “no” to visit our facility and we will address any concerns they may have.

As in the past, we will continue to support the local police, fire and city organizations.
