Bobby Henry

Bobby Henry, 76, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Pedro native was born Feb. 11, 1934, the son of the late Clarence and Emma Layne Henry. He is survived by his wife, Clara M. Easterling Henry, whom he married Aug. 6, 1957.
Mr. Henry attended Decatur School and was a U.S. WWII Army veteran. He was a sheriff’s deputy for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department for eight years and also was employed with the County Engineers Office and the CAO He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Pedro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Sue Henry Shannon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris Henry Evans and Rev. Calvin Evans and Linda Henry Aldridge and Daniel Aldridge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Vickie Henry Delawder of Ironton; four granddaughters, Jerrica Delawder Dickess, Jennifer Shannon, and Jeleesa Stewart all of Ironton and Jessica Shannon of Huntington, W.Va.; two grandsons, John Delawder of Ashland, Ky. and Justin Delawder of Ironton; a brother: Larry Henry of Hillsboro; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many great friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Homewith Rev. Bill Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post 8850.
