COAL GROVE — Clifford (Tip) Harmon, 86, of Coal Grove, died Saturday Oct. 23, 2010, at a local health care facility. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 17, 1924 the son of the late Mose and Maude Large Harmon.

He was a graduate of Coal Grove School and a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He retired from Allied Chemical in South Point and the New Boston Coke Plant as a boiler operator.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Bob and Jack Harmon.

Tip is survived by his wife Dorothy Zornes Harmon; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Kathline Harmon of Ironton; sister and brother-in-law, Elouise and Garland Johnson of Ironton and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Judy Harmon of Ironton.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
