PORTSMOUTH — The St. Joseph Flyers need a dust rag.

After more than a week off, the Flyers battled the Portsmouth Clay Panthers to a 2-2 tie in a soccer match Monday.

“This was the first game we’ve played in a week or so and the rust showed,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair. “Both teams played extremely hard and the game was quite physical.”

Tanner Riley scored both of St. Joseph’s goals with Tanner Carte and Payton Blair each contributing an assist.

“Tanner kept us in the game by scoring both goals,” said coach Blair.

The Flyers play at 6 p.m. Thursday at Wheelersburg.
