Oren Dale Lightner

COLUMBUS — Oren Dale Lightner, 70, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at the Pataskala Oaks Care Center in Pataskala.
The Ironton native was born March 1, 1940, the son of the late Rev. Raymond Lightner and Annabelle Hughes Lightner Bowen.
Mr. Lightner was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a former mechanic for Kroger for 25 years and a former employee of Red Envelope. He enjoyed woodworking and was a gospel quartet singer and a member of the Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church in Gahanna.
He is survived by a son, Roger D. Collins of Tomah, Wis.; a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Greg Lovins of Kenova, W.Va.; a son, Christopher D. Lightner of Columbus; two brothers; two sisters; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
