Deering Grange group honors Lloyd Webb

At the Aug. 12 meeting of the Deering Grange, conducted by Mary Rose, master, the charter was draped in memory of Lloyd Webb.
Minutes of the last meeting were read by Clarice Sparling, secretary. All committee chairman were called upon for their reports.
The following members were elected to serve as officers for the coming Grange year that begins October 1:

Overseer- Helen Webb
Lecturer- Herbert Rose
Steward – Norma Jean Conley
Assistant Steward – Justin Brooks
Lady Assistant Steward – Mabel Jeter
Chaplain- Harold Jeter
Treasurer – Bill Sparling
Secretary – Clarice Sparling
Ceres- Laura Rose
Pomona – Edith Willis
Flora – Freda Stafford
Gatekeeper- Merle Ackerson
Executive Committee- Herbert Rose, Bill Sparling, Harold Jeter,
Herbert Rose reported on the Aug. 7 meeting of Pomona Grange held at the Windsor Grange Hall.
Mary Rose, family activities chairman of Pomona Grange announced the following winners in the needlework and photography contests: Stuffed Toy, Luella Pinson, Class A: Afghan, Sharon Skaggs, Class B: For the table, Helen Webb. Webb was also the winner in Class E: Something to wear. Class F: Embroidery, Luella Pinson.
These winners will send their entries to the Ohio State Grange Convention in October for judging in the state contest.
Herbert Rose, lecturer for the evening, gave a review of Grange ritualistic work.
At the close of the meeting members enjoyed a fellowship with refreshments served by Mabel Jeter.
The next meeting was Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
