Ironton 24, Chillicothe 6

CHILLICOTHE — The Ironton Fighting Tigers rushed for 335 yards as they whipped the Chillicothe Cavaliers 24-6 Friday.

Brian Warner ran 19 times for 94 yards and a touchdown and Tres Wilks had 69 yards and two scores for the Fighting Tigers (3-0). Tyler Hager picked up 84 yards on 12 carries and quarterback Tommy Waginger had 41 yards and ran for two conversions.

Chillicothe (0-3) was held to 88 yards rushing and 46 passing — 42 coming on a fake punt play.

Lucasville Valley 49, Coal Grove 21

LUCASVILLE — The Lucasville Valley Indians used big plays to build a 42-7 halftime lead and went on to beat the Coal Grove Hornets 49-21 in a battle of unbeatens Friday night.

Quarterback Blake Yates threw touchdowns passes of 26 yards to Rob Dwyer and 69 to Alex Holcomb and also ran 40 yards for a score for Valley (3-0).

Yates added a 34-yard interception return for a score and Holcomb returned a kickoff in the second half 85 yards for a touchdown.

Coal Grove (2-1) was led by Boo Woods who rushed 15 times for 125 yards and Greg Bender who had 71 yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns as the offense ran for 257 yards.

Portsmouth West 49, South Point 6

SOUTH POINT — The Portsmouth West Senators rushed for 342 yards as they beat the South Point Pointers 49-6 Friday.

Trevon Pendleton had 163 yards on 10 carries with two touchdowns for West (3-0).

South Point (1-2) trailed 22-0 at the half and it was 29-6 at the end of the third quarter as Kyle Dickess ran 1-yard for the Pointers’ only score.

West scored 21 points in the fourth quarter including a 15-yard fumble return by Kyle Auger to cap the scoring.
