COAL GROVE — According to Coal Grove Police Chief Eric Spurlock, Officer Chuck Wheeler turned in his resignation on Aug. 4 citing “personal issues.”

Spurlock announced Wheeler’s resignation at the Coal Grove Village Council meeting on Aug. 17.

A motion carried to accept the resignation.

Spurlock said he is still looking to fill Wheeler’s part-time position. He also petitioned the village council for an additional full-time officer to be added.
