Phillip D. Baker, 71, of Ironton, died Saturday April 3, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Ruth Murphy Baker. He was the husband of Carolyn Baker for 49 years. He retired from Carlyle Tile and was an avid mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Keith Perkins and Terri and Jim Cochran, all of Ironton; one son, Dale Baker of Ironton; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce E. and Victor Belskie of Worthington, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Derek Moore, Sarah and Staci Cochran, Justin Hyland, Ashley Baker, Kathleen Baker and Madison Hope Baker, who was raised in their home and one great grandchild Mylie Marie Moore.
He was preceded by one sister Eileen Begonia and three brothers Carl Baker, Gilbert Baker, and Robert Baker.
Funeral will be noon Wednesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Veterans section with V.F.W. Post 8850 performing military graveside rites. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Wednesday at the funeral home.
