An Ironton woman sustained a serious head injury and cuts to her hand during a motorcycle accident last night.

Dana Vanover, 49, of Ironton, struck a deer on State Route 650 in Hanging Rock around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday. Sgt. J.P. Kisor of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Vanover was flown by helicopter to Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was not wearing a helmet.
