To all of those that have read the Dash Poem by Linda Ellis
June 1, 1941 – Nov. 23, 2009
We refer to the date on the tombstone
From the beginning to the end.
But he said what matters most of all
Was the dash between those years.
Charlie spent his life loving his family, he never believed in half, step or adopted you were his brother, sister, son and daughter no conditions. The 30 years he gave to Juanita and the years he gave to his children, grand and great grand children, brothers and sisters were filled with his unconditional love and devotion always felt by his family and all the people lucky enough to share a part of his dash in life. Charlie lived his life on his terms, and while he never wanted to hurt any one he knew life was so precious there were times he had to move on. When you talk about what Charlie experienced in life it can truly be said all that he wanted to.
He is survived by his partner in life Juanita Caskey; four sons and daughters-in- law, Chris and Sharyn Wipert, Chris and Syvonna Gullion, Jesse Wipert and Gary Caskey and Jane Reber; six daughters, Debb Wipert, Jami Flowers, Judy Brumenshenkel, Michelle Caskey, Amy Caskey and Tonya Miller; 17 grandchildren and their spouses, Paul and Janel Strong Jr., Angel Strong, Dillion Wipert, Chas Wipert, Brenden Charles Wipert, Jessica Wipert, Trevor Caskey, Alexus Collins, Robert Hewitt, Librado Juandedios, Miranda Gullion, Casey Gullion, Elizabeth Gullion, Brittaney Shrimplin, Chloe Miller, Ean Miller and Pettie Bradley; three great grandchildren, Tommy Dejesus Jr., Nautika Strong and Rylie Strong; three brothers, Jim and Sis Wipert, Bill and Penny Wipert, Tom and Barb Wipert; two sisters, Kim Beavin and Trish and Brian Wagner; special friends, Jim and Kim Johnston, Suzie Duncan, Bailey Duncan, Ashley Duncan, Tommy Hartman, Mark Williams and family.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Wesley Wipert.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or services. The family will have a private dinner and memorial sharing the stories and memories left to them. The family asks all of you that have been touched by Charlie’s dash to share and keep their memories tell them over and over again — that’s what mattered to Charlie the most was his dash.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family with arrangements.
