The present should be helpful toward the future.
With the sectional tournament approaching, the St. Joseph Female Flyers took a four-set victory over the Chesapeake Lady Panthers Monday in a volleyball game, 25-15, 25-21, 18-25 and 25-23.
“That was a big win for us with the tournament seedings on Sunday,” said St. Joseph coach Andrea Rudmann.
“It was a team effort. Everyone contributed. Michelle Staton had an outstanding game and showed a lot of senior leadership.”
Michelle Staton had 18 points and five blocks to lead the Female Flyers. Katie Hacker racked up 14 points and four kills while Sara Burcham recorded 12 setting assists.
“Burcham and Hacker had good games and Sarah Goebel had a big game off the bench. Our student section was a big factor with their support,” said Rudmann.
The Female Flyers play at Ironton in a “Volley for the Cure” game Wednesday.
