SOUTH POINT – Mary F. Carrico, 75, of South Point passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Kings Daughters Medical Center Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born March 21, 1934 in Lawrence County, Ohio; the daughter of the late Chester and Evelyn Douglas Broughton.
She was a homemaker and attended South Point schools. She is a member of the Lick Creek Independent Baptist Church in South Point. She has lived in this area all her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Berkley Carrico who died on May 7, 2001; a son Jay Broughton; five daughters: Linda Carrico, Mary Carrico, Brenda Bartrum, Debbie Carrico, Stacy Carrico; four brothers: James Broughton, Chester Broughton, Jr., Steven Broughton, Doug Broughton; granddaughter: Tonya Carrico; a great-granddaughter: Katlyn Reynolds.
She is survived by a son: Berkley Carrico of South Point, three daughters and a son-in-law: Joy and Don Crowe of Flatwoods, Ky., Sally Burke of Ironton, Cindy Delawder of Ironton; a daughter-in-law: Jeannie Broughton of Circleville, Ohio; two brothers: Bobby Broughton of Allentown, Va., Danny Broughton of Crandall, Ind. and one sister, Maxine Blankenship of Broaddus, Texas.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton with Pastor’s Pat Burnett, Mike Dement and Paul Toney officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Friends may call Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
