Ann Elizabeth “Betty” Hacker, 92, of Ironton, died Sunday, Aug 2, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center Ashland, Ky.
She was born Nov. 14, 1916, in Ironton, to the late Arthur James and Marie Hickey James. She was married to the late John J. Hacker for 59 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Women’s Club, the Bellefonte County Club, and was previously a member of the Ladies Nine Hole Golf Club at the Ironton Country Club. She was an avid golf player along with her husband John.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary James of Columbus; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald W. and Mary Margaret Hacker, Frank and Dorothy Hart, Richard and Angela Miller and Ben Rehring.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Loretta Rehring and 19 nieces and nephews,
Mass of the Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David L. Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coal Grove. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
