As part of the resurfacing project on U.S. 52 in Lawrence County, there will be a lane closure on the Simeon Willis Bridge or 13th Street Bridge from Ashland, Ky. to Coal Grove.
Affected will be the outside left-turn lane bringing northbound traffic into Lawrence County. The inside left-turn lane and the right-turn lane will remain open.
The closure is expected to start at 4 p.m. today and continue through mid-August.
Crews from Shelly and Sands Inc. of Zanesville are replacing bridge decks and resurfacing U.S. 52 between the 5-mile marker just east of State Route 650 at Hanging Rock and the 11.84-mile marker at the eastern corporation limit of Coal Grove.
Shelly and Sands was awarded an approximately $10.9 million contract and throughout construction an 11.5 foot wide restriction and a 45 mile per hour speed limit are in effect within the project zone.
