Ironton woman killed in 2-vehicle accident

PROCTORVILLE — An Ironton woman is dead following a crash at the intersection of County Road 403 and County Road 775 in Proctorville Saturday.
Cora E. Horn, 75, of Ironton, was in the front seat of a Honda Civic driven by Teresa Sanders, 48, of Flatwoods, at the time of the accident at 12:09 p.m. She was pronounced dead at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Anthony Stephen Greear, 40, of Proctorville, was driving a 2007 Land Rover LR3 eastbound on County Road 403 or Irene Road when the Honda Civic struck his vehicle. Sanders was traveling northbound on County Road 775.
Flashing traffic signal lights controlled traffic at the intersection. Flashing yellow lights controlled the road that Greear was on. Flashing red traffic lights controlled the other road.
Sanders failed to yield to the SUV at the intersection, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Sanders’ car struck the right front side of the SUV.
Greear was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center; his condition was not available at press time. Sanders was taken to Cabell where she was released.
The Honda sustained heavy front-end damage. The SUV sustained damage to its right side.
The patrol is investigating the crash.
