SISTER MARY CORN

CHARDON — Sister Mary St. Hugh Corn, 91, of Chardon, formerly of Lawrence County, died June 12, 2009, at Regina Health Center in Richfield where she had been a patient since 2006.
Born June 20, 1917 in Lawrence Township, Sister Mary taught elementary school for eight years, was a library aide and research assistant at Notre Dame College’s Clara Fritzche Library for eight years and a sacristan at the college for 11 years. She was a great friend to all and known for her gentle thoughtfulness and concern.
Sister Mary St. Hugh was preceded in death by her parents Orin and Sophia Beryl (nee Barnes) Corn; and her brothers George, Joseph, and Orville Corn; and her sisters Marjorie Ratliff and Belden Fisher.
Survivors include her brothers Bill and John Corn; also sister to the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame with whom she shared her life for 58 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Notre Dame Education Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon. Friends may call at the center 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today, and 2-4:45 Wednesday. A special wake service will be 7 p.m. on today.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sisters of Notre Dame. Arangements are under the direction of DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home.
