SCOTTOWN — Samuel H. Alexander, 63, of Scottown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born Jan. 8, 1946, in Mason County, W.Va., son of the late Charles Henry Alexander and Fronia Alexander Mahan. He was a member of Huntington VFW Post 1064.
He is survived by special friends Rayette Alexander and their son Jermy Alexander, Sue Alexander and their children, Samuel L. Alexander and Tonya Powers; step-father Ralph Mahan; three grandchildren; three sisters Wanesia “Sis” Lowe, Delores Baldwin, and Shirley (Richard) Townsend; seven brothers, Ted (Karen) Alexander, Jerry (Kathy) Alexander, Tommy (Cheryl) Alexander, Wayne (Cheryl) Mahan, John (Sue) Mahan, Roy (Janet) Ratcliff, and Joe (Peggy) Ratcliff; and a very special nephew John Lowe.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Charles Turley. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery Willow Wood.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville. VFW Post 1064 will conduct military graveside rites. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall
