In-Demand Careers
This spring is a good time to begin preparing for a new or better job. More than 400 courses are offered in subjects ranging from accounting to welding.
People who can’t attend college fulltime can start with a certificate program that requires just a few classes to complete. Certificates can open doors to employment opportunities in the area, and the courses can count toward future diplomas or degrees.
Technical fields include Air Conditioning (HVAC), Automotive Technology, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Construction, Diesel Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Tool Technology, Welding, and the Lineman, Power Plant Operator and Chemical Plant Operator options in Applied Process Technologies.
Certificate programs are also available in Business, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Fire/Rescue Science, Information Technology and Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education.
See the web at ashland.kctcs.edu for information on your program options.
Join the Choir
People who like to sing are invited to join the River Cities Choir, a group composed of area residents and ACTC students.
Choir members can choose to receive one college credit by enrolling in ACTC’s spring semester University Choristers course, 192MUC. Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the College Drive Campus, Room 329, and the first rehearsal is January 13.
The Choir presents a free public concert each semester. For more information, contact instructor David Maynard, 606-326-2009, email: david.maynard@kctcs.edu.
